Aside from the next and latest Cinema hits, 2022 has many fans, myself alike, waiting eagerly in Anticipation for the next and biggest shows that are due to release. Instead of reviewing another subsequent film today, I've chosen to give my list of some of the most Anticipated shows coming soon!

Stranger Things 4

Although such news is limited, ahead of Stranger Things' new season, we've been already given a whole host of new and exciting teaser trailers. For where and what the gang will seemingly be getting up to next. It's subsequently been nearly three years since Stranger Things 3 hit our screens, back in the Summer of 2019. As the slogan 'We're not in Hawkins Anymore' suggested and had many fans expectant that such a series would be finally moving away and out of just Hawkins, Indiana. Whilst of late along with a whole series of interesting and puzzling posters, the Stranger Things 4 release date was finally announced. As the show will be finally premiering once again on Netflix in two parts, Volume One releasing May 27th and Volume Two on July 1st. Since then the Stranger Things twitter pages have been very active, posting edits of the shows biggest moments and seasons so far, as fans wait eagerly for a final trailer to drop. Subsequently the show also teased a whole range of series shots, as the gang will seemingly reunite across America and Russia. For more news on Stranger Things, make sure to check out Posts 2.0 and 2.1 respectively, as I go into more in depth analyse of the Show so far and what's soon to come.

Ozark (Season 4)

Like many other Netflix shows, Ozark seemingly is also following such the trend of releasing it's latest and final season in Two Volumes. With Volume One already streaming and the subsequent Second Volume due to release on April 29th. It marks the final season which once saw and star Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, a financial planner who soon relocates with his family from Chicago to the summer resort community of the Ozarks. With Marty and his family in tow, there soon on the move, once his such money-laundering scheme goes wrong, forcing him to owe a substantial debt to a Mexican drug lord. With the Byrde's life and fate hanging in the balance ever since, the show has gone onto earn a core following, as many fans alike wait eagerly to see if there be truly set free.

The First Lady

Ever since watching Viola Davis's is spectacular performance as Lawyer Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder, she has had myself and many alike intrigued to what and where best, she can lend her incredible acting efforts to next. With Davis due to partner alongside Gillian Anderson, Michelle Pfeiffer, Aaron Eckhart, Kiefer Sutherland and O-T Fagbenle, in this upcoming American anthology drama. Created by Aaron Coonley, this drama series will follow three former first ladies in America with Michelle Obama, Betty Ford and Eleanor Roosevelt. While being put centre stage, we'll follow the intricacies of life as being First Lady. Alongside from what many, can presume to be the pressures of being married to a president, with such times and political figures all serving and holding office, in such influential moments of American history. Its certainly going to be a compelling watch as it puts the women of America first, acting as a revelatory reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women who witnessed it first hand. Who were often at the very core and heart of the White House. As such women played such an important, major and influential role in America's biggest decisions, which feels both refreshing and invigorating to see put onto screen. Viola Davis' transformation as Michelle Obama is sure to be a one of the must watch performances of the year, whilst series and television greats such Gillian Anderson and Michelle Pfeiffer will also bring such an substantial level of quality and depth. With Audiences' getting a closer, more honest look in the Ladies' own personal and political lives. Exploring everything from their journeys to Washington, family life and world changing political contributions. It's certainly a must-watch show as the impact of the White House's women is no longer hidden from view.

Under the Banner of Heaven

Under the Banner of Heaven, is an upcoming American true crime drama television miniseries based upon the original nonfiction book of the same name, by Jon Krakauer. Adapted by screenwriter Dustin lance Black and directed by David Mackenzie, this series stars both Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones in leading roles and is personally one of my most anticipated shows of 2022. With us following devout Detective Jeb Pyre, who's faith is severely tested during the investigation into the murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty and her young baby daughter, in a suburb of the Salt Lake Valley. As he uncovers buried truths about the true origins of the LDS religion and the violent consequences of unyielding faith. While this brutal murder seemingly leads him once step closer to the connection between an esteemed Utah family's spiral into LDS fundamentalism and their distrust in the government. Andrew Garfield is already a personal favorite actor of mine, so along with the shows seemingly extraordinary cinematography and suspenseful trailer it's sure going to be a deeply driven and nuanced take on some truly disturbing take of events. As so many shows have seen True Crime become a truly passionate genre across many formats, whilst it's miniseries format makes me believe we might just be in for something truly special. Premiering on Hulu on April 28th, the series will also later be available on Disney Plus, in international markets. It's a show that for sure, I believe will best combine a truly disturbing and breathtaking story with some fine and exceptional performances, with leads Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones often guaranteeing that. It marks Garfield's first subsequent leading role in a TV series, as the show takes inspiration from the harrowing murders of Brenda Weight Lafferty and her daughter in 1984 Utah. With the show seemingly not getting a following release date for the UK, however I'll sure to be keep my eyes peeled and are sure to drop another television review upon its' release.

Better Call Saul (Season 6)

Seemingly what Better Call Saul has achieved over it's Five Season runtime to date, is something truly remarkable and exceptionally special, making it an even bigger blow to hear its upcoming Season will be it's last. It can often be difficult to explain and put into words what Better Call Saul does so well, when in contrast to it's counterpart Breaking Bad. Being apart of the same line of work, this prequal spinoff series has done everything Breaking Bad seemingly doesn't achieve and better, which in it's self is a very remarkable achievement. Considering when Breaking Bad achieved pretty much everything a television show can, as it's character development is finely tuned, whilst exploring the concept of growth, develop and change is truly captivating. It's a show that needs and demands your patience, attention and time, as through my current watch through, it's a truly moving and emotional character study that consistency keeps you entertained and invigorated throughout. While it's for those very reasons, many are keen to see the conclusion to the shows Sixth and Final season, due to release onto Netflix on 19th April. With Better Call Saul serving as a extraordinarily remarkable and deeply driven character study, as it's often an harrowing yet still enthralling experience that touches upon a man who's slowly losing touch with the possibility to be good. Whilst instead eventually falling into his very own worst impulses, as what is equally impressive is the performance given by Bob Odenkirk, which draws out every detail and intricacy with both extreme precision and poetry. It's truly one of the best shows and performances put to screen, with it's Final Season offering one last supplement for fans to enjoy.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Set Ten years after the events of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi can be found hiding from the empire. Keeping a watchful eye upon a much younger Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, as he soon finds himself embarking on a rollicking adventure that brings old enemies together once again. Besides the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, the series will also see Hayden Christensen return as Darth Vader. As the Jedi master must contend with the consequences and aftermath of his greatest defeat, with the galaxy in complete disorder and the downfall and corruption of his one-time friend and apprentice, Anakin Skywalker. Who subsequently turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader, it's a return which will sure have a few shocking twits and revelations along the way. Set to release with two premiering episodes on May 27th the show is titled to be an upcoming American television miniseries, consisting of six episodes and concluding on June 22nd. It marks the third character driven series to be released on Disney Plus, alongside the likes of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, with many core fans dying to see what's in store next.

The Umbrella Academy (Season 3)

Due to arrive back on fans screen on June 22nd, The Umbrella Academy sure left many fans alike both intrigued and on edge for what next the show hand in store. With it hopefully set to answer such burning questions that have plagued fans since season two's shock ending. Whilst it's endearing ensemble cast, is once again poised to return, screenwriter Blackman teased that the show would be "wilder, bigger and zanier", as such emotional stories within and between the dysfunctional family, are expected to be put centre stage and built upon once more. As he further teased such growth and changes that "In a way people are just not going to expect". The show seemingly loves wrong-footing and suspiring viewers, employing new, elevating twists and turns that can keep and leave even the most attentive fans shock. Whilst the small matter of The Sparrow Academy is expected to also take and undoubtedly control Season Three's Narrative.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

For the very first time, this series will bring to life and screen the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earths history. This new epic drama is set thousands of years before such events of J.R.R Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, taking audiences and hopefully many new fans alike back to such times, in an era in which great power was forged and built. As new profound kingdoms rose to glory and eventually fell to ruins, with unlikely hero's rising and being often tested intensely. While the hope of such kingdoms lye in the balance and are hung by the finest of all threads. Spanning over time and in an era of such relative peace, we join our both new and familiar ensemble cast of characters, as they confront the long-feared reemergence of evil to Middle-earth. Due to start streaming on Prime Video, Amazon originally bought the rights for The Lord of the Rings for $250 million back in November 2017. With the total cost of the upcoming fantasy show predicted to pass a staggering $1 Billion, as although sources have remained tight lipped, many estimate the subsequent first series alone will cost a truly remarkable and staggering $462 million. Until such time, it's scheduled release and premier on September 2nd has left many fans waiting eagerly in anticipation with just two subsequent trailer's currently available. The show's immense spectacle and insane, extravagant story is sure to be an intense and captivating watch for all.

Peaky Blinders (Season 6)

At the time of writing, the last subsequent episode of Peaky Blinders last season has aired, as on Sunday the BBC saw over 3.5 million people tune in to bid farewell to Tommy Shelby. Although it might all seem to be finally over, it's ending has still left plenty of space and time for a possible return. As over Sixth episodes many fans have been left just as equally excited, with the creator stating that the shows most anticipated season will further continue. With creator Steven Knight, already confirming that the story will further continue albeit in a slightly different yet still familiar format. While such it's series, definitely won't be the last time we see the Shelby Clan on our screens. However for all such rumors about a possible forthcoming film, many have expected it to be and act as the true final official chapter of the saga. Although many fans alike are having to expect a pretty lengthy wait in the meantime for any new forthcoming cinematic experience.

The Flight Attendant (Season 2)

Starring Kaley Cuoco in a title role, this American comedy-drama was initially released back in November 2020, with it's scheduled second season also due to premiere on April 21st. While Kaley Cuoco performances in it's debut season earnt a subsequent vast array of plaudits, as she simply stunned and shined as a hot, distressed mess. Who's life gets instantly turned upside down after she wakes up in a hotel room with a dead man, but with still no memory of what happened, the night before. With The Flight Attendant acting as an addictively intriguing slice of stylish pulp, that brings a uniquely studying mysteries innuendo back to our screens. Making for a quickly sharp, fascinating and likable experience throughout, that has all the subsequent ingredients for both a moving character study and following second season. Whilst Kaley Cuoco's performance as such a character, who has all the necessary tropes for who makes a scene wherever she goes, while she followed such a portrayal with an eventual Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy. As Kaley is due to once again take audiences on yet another exhilarating ride of frantic ups and downs as being a witness of an assassination, soon puts and entangles her among the midst of an international intrigue. With fans returning and first rejoining the action, as a little teaser trailers introduced Cuoco herself now living in LA, with a new boyfriend, whilst also regularly attending AA meetings. While still working as a flight attendant amongst other secret endeavours with the CIA. As the acclaimed HBO Max original series is expected return on April 21st, as Cuoco herself is most notably known for her portrayal as Penny on CBS' The Big Bang Theory. This particular genre seemingly is a perfect match for her vast array of talents, with many eagerly waiting to see if such a second season can live and match such of the tension and excitement previously established.

Ms. Marvel

Accompanied by the hit single Blinding Lights by the Weeknd , Ms Marvel is set to be yet another subsequent Marvel series due to release on Disney Plus after such trailers gave us our first real insight into the intended seventh television series by Marvel Studios. From most of the reaction surrounding it's very debatable and unconventional trailer, Ms. Marvel is seemingly expected to offer us, such a different viewing experience for audiences to enjoy. Debuting on Disney Plus in June, Ms. Marvel will consist of six episodes, serving later as the setup, for the film The Marvels. In which Iman Vellani will once again reprise her role as Khan along with additional cast members from the series. Whilst the series as a whole, also will star Fawad Khan, Aramis Knight and Matt Linz, alongside Iman Vellani herself. Set amongst many other Marvel hero's, Vellani plays a subsequent fangirl of the Avengers, particularly Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel, navigating through high school and struggling to fit in, until she discovers and gains some true powers of her own. As it's first trailer harnessed some very relatable and fun comic book designs that feel both equally as fun, adorable and exciting, as the very comics themself. Personally, I believe such a series will feel very tonally different, when in contrast to Marvel series' of the past, however such changes and directorial decisions at least should be expressed and tried. With this such comic character seemingly being the perfect opportunity.

Other Honourable Mentions

However such a list, can often be difficult to whittle down, whilst some other important, honourable mentions include shows that although haven't been confirmed for a 2022 released, are due to be returning once again soon. With Netflix due to renew and return with such shows, such as Outer Banks and You with Seasons Three and Four filming at the time of writing. Whilst hits such as Sex Education and Squid Game are also poised for an immense return, with Squid Game Season Two currently in the early stages of development. With show creator and South Korean producer Hwang Dong-hyuk currently working on early writing ideas. As early reports have also proposed he's set out for more violence in his upcoming project, Killing Old People Club, for which he's already written a 25 page treatment for. With 2022 alongside a whole host of exceptional films, surely is going to produce yet another great year of television.
